Appraisal of Factors Affecting Sustainable Project Success in Public Housing Projects in Enugu State, Nigeria

It is necessary for construction organizations to take pertinent the issue of project success in housing projects since the available constructed houses are limited in number. Since public housing projects involve a number of stakeholders, there is need to identify and establish various factors affecting sustainable project success in public housing projects in Nigeria to enable the interest groups to evaluate the project success. The aim of this study is to appraise factors affecting sustainable project success in public housing projects in Enugu State with a view to recommending measures to ensure its statewide adoption considering the attendant need. The study was conducted through a descriptive survey method where one hundred and fifty (150) well-structured questionnaires were distributed to professionals from building construction firms that have Corporate affairs commission and Enugu state government registrations ranging from 2020 to 2022 while one hundred and twenty-six (126) copies were retrieved back. This study revealed that sustainability factors have positive and significant relationship with public housing project success (cost, time and quality); an increase in the sustainability factors will lead to an increase in project success in public housing. The study recommends that, for sustainable Project success in public housing projects, those factors are essential and the project managers should ensure their implementation.
